Elise Berk, LMSW
Associate Clinician
Elise Berk is a Licensed Master Social Worker who works with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, relationships, perfectionism, and the pressures of growing up in high-achieving environments. She has a particular interest in helping clients better understand themselves, quiet harsh self-criticism, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Elise believes that therapy should feel like a conversation. Her style is thoughtful, engaged, and down-to-earth, creating a space where clients feel comfortable exploring what's beneath the surface. Rather than focusing only on immediate problems, she helps clients identify the recurring thoughts, behaviors, and relationship patterns that may be keeping them stuck.
Drawing from both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, Elise combines practical skill-building with deeper insight, helping clients understand not only what they would like to change, but why those patterns developed in the first place.with expertise in helping adults navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, life transitions (e.g.,motherhood, divorce, career changes), relationship issues, parenting and family concerns.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Elise worked in management consulting after earning her Bachelor of Science from the Binghamton University School of Management. She later earned her Master of Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
